Are ground screws easy to install?
Yes, ground screws are very simple to install. You can start turning it into the ground by hand and then use the hand tool once it becomes too difficult to turn. For each ¼ turn of the handle, the ground screw will move 10mm further into the ground.
How do ground screws work and are they stable?
Ground screws use the standard pile principles which have been reliably applied since the Ancient Greeks! The process of installing the ground screws will compact the surrounding local soil and solidify the substructure. Other forces such as skin friction, clamping pressure and thread interlocking will all contribute to its load bearing capacity. Are ground screws suitable for all ground types?
You can use ground screws in most ground types but please contact us if you are unsure. For sloping ground, you can use our self-install range to overcome slopes up to 300mm. If you have a greater slope to overcome, we can offer a professional installation service with our commercial range.
